Free does real recovery; Professional adds VHD, auto-update, support. “Recuva 1.55 unlocked portable” is not Piriform. Recover your files only. Stop writing to the lost disk. This will not fix a dead HDD. Secure overwrite is for files you want gone — not evidence tampering.

Free recovers files with no GB cap like Stellar’s 1 GB tease. Professional is a cheap paid SKU (~$25 on their table) for extras + support. Home use on the consumer page. Cancel in the CCleaner/Gen Digital account.

A $5 “Pro lifetime 2026” keygen is not Recuva.

Will it run on this PC?

Official download line: Windows 10/8.1/7/Vista/XP 32/64-bit, not RT. Support article still lists Win11 and even older Server. Tiny RAM/disk. NTFS / FAT / exFAT. Deep Scan on 32-bit can hit memory limits. Not macOS/Linux as a host.

Already installed? Pro auto-update, or download 1.55 again. You do not hunt a second “full.”

Install, first scan, and the key

First run

1. Stop using the victim disk.
2. Scan. Preview (excellent / poor).
3. Recover to D: / USB.
4. Don’t run CCleaner on that disk first.
5. Other people’s phones are not yours to fish.

Uninstall: Settings → Apps.
