FIX: Corrupted system files on Windows 10

Corrupted system files cause many computer issues. If your Windows 10 installation has a problem, you will experience instability problems and all sorts of other problems.

Fortunately, there are many ways to repair the corrupted system files on Windows 10, and today we’ll show you how to do it.

Fix – Corrupted file system of Windows 10

Solution 1 – Use the tool SFC

If you doubt that your computer files are corrupted, you can repair it by using SFC. That is a command-line tool, and it will scan your computer and fix corrupted system files.

To start the SFC tool, you must follow these methods:

  • Press Windows Key + X
  • Open the Win + X menu
  • and select Command Prompt (Admin).
  • When the Command Prompt opens
  • Enter sfc / scannow and press Enter.

The repair process will now begin. Do not close the Command Prompt or interfere with the repair method. The repair process can take some time, so wait patiently while it is completed.
After the repair process is done, you will view Windows Resource Protection found no integrity violation message if your system files are not corrupted. However, the SFC tool can not always fix a corrupted file, so keep that in mind.

If you want to see the SFC log, you can do it too. To do this, follow these steps:

Open a Command Prompt as an administrator.

Enter command findstr / c: “[SR]”% windir% LogsCBSCBS.log> “% userprofile% Desktopsfclogs.txt” and select Enter. By doing this, you will make sfclogs.txt file on your Desktop.
Open sfclogs.txt and check the results of the SFC scan.
Keep in mind that this log file only contains information relating to the SFC scan done on Windows.

Solution 2 – Use the DISM tool

If you can not run the tool or the SFC SFC can not fix the issue, you can try using the DISM tool. DISM stands for Image Deployment and Service Management tool, and it is used to correct the corruption problem that could prevent the appliance from running SFC.
Same as SFC, DISM is a command-line tool that is used to repair the system files. To run it, you must follow these steps:

  • Open a Command Prompt as an administrator.
  • Enter the DISM / Online / Cleanup-Image / RestoreHealth and press Enter.
  • The repair process will now begin. The repair process can take some minutes, so be patient and do not interrupt it.
  • After the DISM tool repairs your files, restart your PC.

When restarting your PC, you need to check whether the problem is resolved. If the problem persists, rerun the SFC scan.
