FIX: Print Spooler keeps stopping on Windows 10

It is reported by many Windows users that the print spooler stops working repeatedly which causes hindrance in the printing process. So to get rid of it we made a step by step guide to help users fix it.

How can I fix the issue with the printer spooler?

Uninstall useless printers:

  • Open and Control Panel and look for Devices and Printers
  • Then in the Devices and Printers section click on Print server properties for the printer you wish to remove
  • Head over to the Drivers Tab and from the list of installed printers choose the one you want to delete and click Remove
  • Choose driver and driver package and click OK
  • After you’ve removed all useless printers simply restart your PC

Check if Remote Procedure Call services are running:

  • Open the Services window and make sure the print spooler service is working and see if the Startup is set to Automatic
  • Then head over to Remote Procedure Call service and check if Startup type is set to Automatic
  • If not then set it to Automatic through the properties of the service
  • Apply and click OK to save changes

Restart print spooler service:

  • Open the Services window
  • Look for print spooler service and right-click on it
  • Then simply select Restart
