Fix: The Folder path contains invalid character for good

When an application is installed on Windows, the “Error 1324 folder path contains an invalid character” may appear. This is usually due to an incorrect role in the user profile.

 

Fix 1 – Installed under a different profile

 

Check if you can install this software from another user account. This update seems to work most of the time.

  • Press the Windows key and press “R” to bring up the “Run” dialog box.
  • Type “sign out” and press enter.
  • Try logging in with a new user (if available). If you do not have another account, you can try creating a new one.
  • Try installing the software again.

Fix 2 – Fix shell folder through the registry

Hold down button Windows special key and press the key ” R ” to bring up the “Run” dialog box.
Enter ” regedit on” and press the Enter key. The registry editor is displayed.
Navigate to the following location in the Windows registry:
HKEY_CURRENT_USER

Close the registry editor and restart your computer.
Try to install the software again.

 

Fix 3 – Remove invalid characters from the registry

Microsoft has a suggestion that if you know what the wrong character is, it should be removed from the registry.

You can search the Windows registry for the wrong character that appears in error 1324 and replace all instances of the wrong character with the correct letter For example if the 87941 error sense refers to “system 32 /”, you should search for “system 32 /”. If you find examples in the registry, edit them so that the registry values ​​point correctly to the System32 folder.

Press the Windows key and press “R” to bring up the “Run” dialog box.
Enter “regedit on” and press enter. The registry editor is displayed.

Enter the wrong character in the “Find What” field and select “Find Next”.
If you find the wrong character, change it. Press F3 to continue searching.
Try reinstalling the software.
