Fix: There were some problems installing updates
In case you are having trouble trying to install updates on Windows, there are ways to overcome these problems.
Here are some methods that can help you fix a problem installation update.
No problem usually triggers the following error: “There are some problems installing the update but we will try again later.”
Solution 1: Run the Windows Update Troubleshooter
Windows Update troubleshooter automatically detects and repairs the incorrect settings on your computer that carries the message ‘there are some problems installing the update but we will try again later.’
Sometimes you can not install the update if your computer can not find the correct IP address when it tries to resolve a URL for the Windows Update Web site, or the Microsoft Update website.

Follow these steps to run a Windows Update troubleshooter:
- Press the Windows key + I to open Settings.
- Select Update & Security.
3.Select Troubleshoot from the left panel.
4.Extending Windows Update troubleshooter and click Run troubleshooter.
Does this let you proceed with the installation of your update? If not, try the next solution.
Solution 2: Run the tool DISM
If you still can not install updates on Windows 10, run the DISM tool or the Deployment Image Servicing and Management tool.
DISM tool helps fix Windows errors and corruption when the Windows Update service pack fails to install due to corruption error, such as if you have a corrupted system file.
Here’s how to run a DISM command on your PC to check if it helps you when you are unable to install updates on Windows:
- Enter Safe Mode with Networking.
- Open a Command Prompt as an administrator.
- At the command line, copy-paste the following lines and press Enter after each:
- DISM / online / Cleanup-Image / ScanHealth
- DISM / Online / Cleanup-Image / RestoreHealth
4.Once it is done, reboot your PC.
Once the repair is done, reboot the computer and try to install the update again.
