WhatsApp for Windows is Meta’s desktop client. Official sources are whatsapp.com/download and the Microsoft Store. It needs Windows 10 64-bit version 1903+. You link it to the phone account (QR). WhatsApp Web is the browser fallback. “GBWhatsApp,” “FMWhatsApp,” and third-party “WhatsApp Plus” EXEs are not Meta — they steal sessions. Meta’s own optional WhatsApp Plus subscription (themes) is a different thing and still comes from WhatsApp, not a forum ZIP. This page will not help you spy on anyone.

Install, link, first chat

First run

1. Open WhatsApp on Windows.
2. Scan QR from the phone.
3. Send a message to yourself.
4. Settings → notifications.

Uninstall: Settings → Apps. Then unlink the PC on the phone.

If it did not work

• QR expired — refresh, scan again.
• Win 8 — use Web.
• 20 MB WA_Plus_Unlocked — leave.

Why people still install the desktop app

• Keyboard + drag-and-drop files
• Calls / screen share on the PC
• Official linked-device model

It will not replace the phone number registration.
