SOLVED: Sorry, this app is no longer available on Windows Store
One common problem reported lately, is the error message received many Sorry, this application is no longer available when trying to download apps from the Windows Store, even when the app is actually available in the Windows Store. I see a lot of threads on the Internet about this error message. So I decided to do some research, read a lot of threads on different forums and eventually came across fix to solve this problem.
It turns out Windows release a security update KB2862768. There are about 15 issues addressed by these updates, including two errors stopped at various conditions. This update applies to Windows RT, Windows 8, and Windows Server 2012.
Whether it’s an update, which causes this problem. Yes, there is an error in this update that breaks the functionality of the Windows Store. So how to solve this for now? Workarounds? Well the only way to overcome this problem is to remove this update.
Here is how you can remove this update:
- Go to the Desktop and press Win + R
- Then type appwiz.cpl
- Click View Installed Update
- Now find KB2862768 from the list and click Delete
- Reboot your system.
Now that the update has been successfully removed, open the Windows Store and try to install a Windows Store app. It should work again.
