There is no extra unlocked setup.

• Sign in or enter the Pro / Business key (a Reader or Standard key will not turn on Pro preflight)
• Stay on v14

A “14.0 pre-activated” folder plus a patch is stolen licensing. Grey-market keys are often recycled seats.

v11 / v12 Pro: no more Foxit patches after 13 Aug 2025. Do not put a new machine on those years.

What to do next

1. Open Foxit download portal.
2. Choose PDF Editor for Windows — pick the Pro installer if Foxit splits the SKUs.
3. EXE detects language; MSI defaults to English (better for IT).
4. Activate the Pro licence.
5. Help → About should show 14.x and Pro.

• SmartScreen can appear on a new Editor setup. Use More info only if the signature is Foxit.
• Do not turn off Defender to “unlock Pro.”
• Do not swap licensing DLLs.

Activation (Foxit KB): subscription Editor / Editor+ = 2 devices (Windows and Mac may mix). Perpetual = 1 device, OS-locked — a Windows perpetual key does not activate Mac.

A $15 “Editor Pro lifetime 2026” key is not Foxit.

Install Foxit PDF Editor, first PDF, and Pro check

First run

1. Open Foxit PDF Editor.
2. Activate the Pro seat.
3. Confirm Convert → Preflight is there.
4. Set Windows default PDF app if you want Foxit.
5. Edit one file, then a PDF/A pass if that is why you bought Pro.

Uninstall: Settings → Apps.

If it did not work

• Preflight missing — Standard Editor or Reader installed.
• Activation fail — perpetual Windows key on the wrong OS, or a v12 key on v14.
• 25 MB EditorPro_Unlocked — leave.

Why teams still buy Pro

• Acrobat-class edit without an Adobe seat
• PDF/A shops that need Pro preflight
• v14 still in Foxit’s N / N-1 window

It will not replace a records system.
