If you searched for “Live 12 Suite full,” “12.4 portable,” or “authorized”

There is no extra unlocked setup.

• First, buy or trial from Ableton.
• Next, download the Suite Windows ZIP from Licenses & Packs.
• Then, extract. Run Ableton Live 12 Suite Installer.exe.
• Also, keep Data.cab next to it.
• Next, install to C:\ProgramData\Ableton\.
• Finally, launch. Authorize with the same account.

A “12.4 pre-authorized” folder plus a hosts-file patch is stolen licensing. Grey-market keys are often recycled seats.

Sets saved in Live 12 do not open in Live 11.

Your download should start on Ableton.com (signed in)

If the EXE is 90 MB named Live_Suite_2026, leave. Real Suite + content is large; the app ZIP alone is hundreds of MB, Packs up to ~76 GB extra.

What to do next

1. Log in at ableton.com.
2. Next, go to Licenses & Packs → Live 12 → Windows.
3. Then, download Suite.
4. Next, extract the ZIP. Run the installer. Use the default path.
5. Then, delete the ZIP when done (Ableton’s own note).
6. Finally, open Live. Authorize. Add Packs from the same page.

Typical install: C:\ProgramData\Ableton\Live 12 Suite.

Intro / Standard owners: download that edition. A Suite installer will not stay unlocked on a Standard key.

Live 11 / 10: only if that is the licence on the account (10 last listed 10.1.43). Support is current + previous major.

Windows may warn you. Check the publisher.

• First, confirm the publisher reads Ableton.
• Next, SmartScreen can appear on a new Live setup. Use More info only if the signature is Ableton.
• However, do not turn off Defender to “authorize Suite.”
• AVX2 missing = Live 12 will not start (Ableton KB).

ASIO interface recommended. Windows ARM: Ableton documents Prism emulation, not a native ARM Suite.

Trial and licence

Ableton sells Intro / Standard / Suite and sometimes rent-to-own. Trial from Ableton. Authorize online. Cancel rent-to-own in the Ableton account if that is what you used.

A $30 “Suite lifetime 2026” key is not Ableton.

Will Ableton Live Suite run on this PC?

Live 12 Windows: Windows 10 22H2 or Windows 11 22H2+, Intel 5th-gen i5+ or Ryzen with AVX2, 8 GB RAM (16–32 GB better), ~6 GB for the app, up to 76 GB for Packs, display 1366×768, ASIO for Link / low latency. Internet to authorize. Install on the system drive.

Already installed? Download the newest 12.x installer from the same account page and run it. You do not hunt a second “Suite full.”

Install Ableton Live Suite: first Set and authorize

First run

1. First, open Live 12 Suite.
2. Next, authorize.
3. Then, create an Empty Set. One MIDI clip.
4. Next, go to Preferences → Audio → ASIO device.
5. Finally, download Packs you need — not all 76 GB on day one.

Do not save projects inside the Live install folder.

Uninstall: Settings → Apps / Ableton’s uninstall. Packs you put elsewhere stay.

If it did not work

• Specifically, won’t launch — no AVX2.
• Similarly, demo mode — wrong edition ZIP or no authorize.
• Finally, if you see 80 MB Live12_Unlocked — leave.

Why people still buy Suite

• For example, Session view + Max for Live.
• In addition, 12.x updates included for that major.
• Also, Packs from the same account.

It will not replace a mixing console.
