A MAGIX-era key will not license Boris FX 2026. A “Vegas Pro 23 Complete + Continuum + Sapphire” folder is stolen licensing. Grey-market keys are often recycled logins.

What to do next (2026 and later)

1. Download Boris FX Hub from borisfx.com/downloads.
2. Sign in.
3. Find Vegas Pro → Install.
4. Pick the edition you paid for (example: Ultimate).
5. Choose extra content (Select All or pick).
6. When Vegas launches, confirm Use Login License on this computer.

Typical folder: Hub caches under your profile / Program Files as the installer chooses.

Pre-2026 Vegas / Sound Forge / ACID: MAGIX still hosts those installers. Vegas/MAGIX Hub is not in Boris FX 2026 builds.

Windows may warn you. Check the publisher.

• Publisher should read Boris FX.
• SmartScreen can appear on Hub or Vegas setup. Use More info only if the signature is Boris FX.
• Do not turn off Defender to “activate.”
• Do not patch vegas160.exe / Vegas Pro.exe.

If Vegas opens as a demo, you picked the wrong edition in Hub or never confirmed the login licence.

Boris FX Vegas Pro trial and paid seats

Boris FX documents a 15-day trial with full features. Paid seats use a login licence on up to two computers. You do not type a 25-digit MAGIX key into Vegas 2026.

Cancel or manage the seat in the Boris FX account. A $15 “lifetime 2026” key is not Boris FX.

Vegas Pro 2026 is Windows. Match the official spec on the product page for your build. Practical floor for a 2026 NLE:

Already installed? Use Hub to repair or update. You do not download a second “2026 full.” Add Deep Learning Models only when Vegas asks.

Install, first project, and licence

First run

1. Open Vegas Pro 2026 from the Start menu (or Hub).
2. Confirm the login licence.
3. Drop a short clip on the timeline — not the 8K wedding on day one.
4. If you bought Plus / Ultimate, check that Title Studio / Continuum extras actually installed.
5. Install Deep Learning Models if AI Z-depth / similar features prompt you.

Uninstall: Windows Apps and/or Hub. Close Vegas first.

If it did not work

• Hub shows no Vegas — this ID never bought 2026 (or still owns MAGIX-only).
• MAGIX serial rejected — expected on 2026.
• Demo watermark — wrong edition, or licence not assigned to this PC.
• Missing titles / CrumplePop — extras never ticked in Hub.
• Installer is 80 MB named Vegas_2026_Full — leave.

Why editors still install Vegas Pro

• Timeline cutting on Windows
• OFX plugins (Continuum, Sapphire) in the same app
• 2026 wave: Continuum Title Pack, AI tools, ProRes RAW / 4:2:2 decode work Boris FX documents

It is not After Effects and not a free Continuum Complete licence unless your bundle says so.
