Activate Windows or Office from Microsoft

Official licensing from Microsoft.
Windows and Microsoft 365 / Office are licensed with a Microsoft account, a retail key, or a work/school seat. Microsoft Toolkit, KMSpico, KMSAuto, HWID “forgers” and “digital permanent” packs are not Microsoft.

Official Microsoft build. Sign in at account.microsoft.com or admin.microsoft.com for work seats.
Windows: microsoft.com/software-download or Settings → System → Activation.
Microsoft 365: microsoft.com/microsoft-365.
Do not run Microsoft_Toolkit.exe, KMSAuto.exe, KMSpico.exe or an “Office 2024 toolkit” from a file host. That is not Microsoft.

Work PCs: your admin assigns the seat or a KMS/AD activation host Microsoft documents for volume customers. You do not install a public toolkit.

If you searched for “Microsoft Toolkit” or “activated Windows / Office”

There is no extra unlocked Microsoft setup.

• Microsoft Toolkit is a third-party crack. It pretends to be a KMS client and writes stolen or forged licence data.
• Microsoft does not publish it, sign it, or support it.
• Sign in with the Microsoft account that owns Windows or Microsoft 365.
• Use Change product key only with a key you bought or that IT issued.
• Office / 365 opens and stays signed in. That is the licence check.

A “permanent Windows 11 + Office 2024” pack plus a toolkit is stolen licensing. Windows and Office check the account or the key. Grey-market keys are often recycled or blocked.

A current Microsoft 365 personal/family plan follows Microsoft’s device limits. Work/school seats follow your admin. That is the legal way to run Office on more than one PC — not a toolkit.

If nothing saves, you are on the wrong Microsoft account, or you opened a page that is not microsoft.com.

What to do next

1. Sign in at account.microsoft.com (home) or admin.microsoft.com (work).
2. Open Services & subscriptions or the admin Billing / Licences list.
3. Choose Windows or Microsoft 365 / Office.
4. Install from Microsoft, or use Settings → Activation on Windows.
5. Stay online until Windows or Office can sign in.

Typical folder: C:\Users\You\Downloads.
Office path (current): C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office or C:\Program Files\Microsoft Office\root\Office16.

There is no official Microsoft Toolkit folder.

Volume / KMS / MAK images are an admin job on Microsoft’s volume-licensing docs. Do not take a toolkit from a forum thread.

Windows may warn you. Check the publisher.

• Publisher should read Microsoft Corporation.
• SmartScreen often flags toolkits for a reason. Do not choose Run anyway on an unknown publisher.
• Do not turn off Defender to “activate.”
• Do not replace sppsvc files or drop a cracked slmgr script.

Settings → System → Activation shows whether Windows is licensed. File → Account in Word/Excel shows whether Office is signed in.

A toolkit .exe whose publisher is blank, “unknown,” or a random name is not Microsoft.

Trial and subscription

Windows is sold as OEM, retail, or a work/school edition. Microsoft 365 is a subscription. A Microsoft trial is the official look. Convert the trial with the same Microsoft account. Cancel in the account if you only wanted the trial.

Education and nonprofit seats follow Microsoft’s own programmes.

A $8 “Windows 11 Pro + Office 2021 toolkit” listing is not Microsoft.

Will it run on this PC?

You do not need a toolkit for a licensed PC.

Windows 11 needs a 64-bit PC that meets Microsoft’s current requirements (TPM, Secure Boot, supported CPU). Microsoft 365 needs a supported Windows 10/11 build.

If Activation says Windows is not licensed, use a genuine key or your work account. Do not “fix” it with a toolkit.

Already licensed? Settings → Activation, or Office → Account. You do not download a second “full activated” pack.

Install, first run, and sign-in

First run (official)

1. Install Windows or Office from Microsoft.
2. Sign in with the same Microsoft or work account.
3. Confirm Activation / Office Account shows licensed.
4. Let Windows Update and Office updates run.

Uninstall a toolkit if one is already there: Settings → Apps. Then run a genuine licence check. If Windows is now unlicensed, use a real key or IT. Do not reinstall the toolkit.

If it did not work

• Product missing on the account — this ID never bought Windows or 365.
• Licence error — key used on too many machines, or a fake key.
• Installer named Microsoft_Toolkit_2.6.7 or KMS8 — leave.
• SmartScreen / Defender block — expected on activators.
• “Successfully activated” from a toolkit — not a Microsoft licence.

Why people still search for Microsoft Toolkit

• It claims to activate Windows and Office without paying
• It copies the look of a Microsoft utility
• Old forum threads still rank for “activate Office”

What it will not do

• Give you a licence Microsoft recognises
• Stay safe on a machine that handles bank or work files
• Replace Settings → Activation or a 365 sign-in

Microsoft documents real volume activation for organisations. That is KMS/AD/AAD on your servers, not a public toolkit.

Questions before you trust the installer

Is Microsoft Toolkit official?
No. Microsoft does not publish it. Publisher will not be Microsoft Corporation.

Is Windows or Office free this way?
No. Home use is retail or Microsoft 365. Work use is a seat from your admin. Education has its own rules.

Toolkit vs official KMS?
Official KMS is a volume-licensing service the organisation runs. A public toolkit is a crack that impersonates that service.

Do I need a toolkit?
No. If the PC is licensed, Activation already says so. If it is not, buy a key or use the work account.

Safe?
Official Microsoft installer. The usual risk is fake activator sites (malware bundled with the crack).
