Most Windows 11 and Windows 10 PCs should use the 64-bit edition. After download, run the setup file, follow the installer, and open PowerISO from the Start menu. The trial can open, extract, burn and mount images with no time limit. Creating or editing an image larger than 300 MB requires a registered licence.

What’s new
The current release can create a bootable USB drive from ZIP, RAR and 7-Zip archives, alongside the existing ISO workflow. It also includes smaller fixes. Recent updates added ISO creation from a USB drive, Windows setup customisation, extra compressed image types for USB tools, Opus and AIF audio support, and MP3 CD/DVD disc creation.

How to download and install PowerISO
- Open the official PowerISO download page.
- Select the 64-bit, 32-bit or ARM64 installer.
- Save the
.exefile and run it. - Complete setup and decline any extra offers you do not want.
- Launch PowerISO and open an ISO, BIN, NRG, DAA or other supported image.
If Windows SmartScreen or antivirus flags a fresh installer, confirm you took the file from poweriso.com, then allow the app. Avoid “cracked”, “full version free” or offline-repack links. Those are a common source of malware on ISO-tool searches.
What you can do after you install it
PowerISO is a single Windows utility for disc images and optical media. After download you can:
- Open and extract ISO, BIN/CUE, NRG, CDI, DAA, DMG, MDF/MDS and many other image types
- Create an ISO or BIN/CUE from folders or from a CD, DVD or Blu-ray disc
- Edit an image: add, delete or rename files, change timestamps, add boot data

Download PowerISO as an ISO extractor
Install PowerISO, open the image, click Extract, choose a folder and confirm. From File Explorer, right-click the ISO and extract it with original names and folders. You can also open the image and drag selected files out. The same steps work for DAA and most other formats the program can read.
Download PowerISO as an ISO burner
No separate burning suite is required. Open the image, click Burn, choose the recorder and speed, optionally enable verify, and start the write. PowerISO burns ISO and other images to CD-R/RW, DVD±R/RW, DVD-RAM, dual-layer media and Blu-ray. It can also write files and folders on the fly and burn Apple DMG images directly. Rewritable discs can be fully or quickly erased.
To burn an audio CD, create a new audio CD image, add tracks, insert a blank CD-R and burn. Mixed-mode discs and CD-TEXT are supported.
Download PowerISO as an ISO mounter
PowerISO includes its own virtual drives, so you do not need Daemon Tools or similar software just to mount an ISO. Click Mount, pick a drive letter and open the image. You can also right-click the file and mount it, or use the tray icon’s virtual drive manager. Several images can stay mounted at once.
DAA files
DAA (Direct Access Archive) is PowerISO’s compressed image format. It shrinks raw disc data, can use a password and encryption, can split a large backup into volumes, and supports checksums. Use DAA when an ISO is too large to store or send. Convert back to ISO when you need a standard image other tools can open. DAA is proprietary, so PowerISO is the reliable way to create and open it.

Supported formats and file systems
PowerISO reads ISO, BIN/CUE, NRG, CDI, DAA, UIF, DMG, MDF/MDS, IMG, CCD, C2D and a long list of related image types, including many multi-session images. It can also work with virtual-disk and floppy images such as VMDK, VDI and QCOW/QCOW2. Disc file systems include ISO 9660, Joliet, Rock Ridge, El Torito, UDF, Xbox DVD, HFS and HFS+.
