This is not Chrome. Sync is optional and uses your Vivaldi account. A “pre-activated” folder plus a patched vivaldi.exe is not an official Vivaldi distribution and may contain malware. “Lifetime Pro” keys or unlockers are not required for the official desktop browser.

Snapshots are preview builds intended for testing upcoming changes — not a second “full” version. Use the stable release for normal everyday browsing.

What to do next

Vivaldi’s installation location depends on the installation type and Windows configuration. A standalone installation can use the folder you selected during setup. Avoid copying a “ready profile” or modified browser folder from an unknown source.

• The official installer should identify Vivaldi Technologies as the publisher.
• SmartScreen or another Windows warning can appear for legitimate downloads. Verify that you downloaded the installer from Vivaldi before proceeding.

Trial and licence

Vivaldi’s supported Windows versions can change over time. Check the official current system requirements before installing, especially on Windows versions that are no longer supported by Microsoft. Install, first window, and sync

First run

1. Open Vivaldi.
2. Choose your welcome, tab, and appearance options.
3. Set up optional Vivaldi account sync if you want it.
4. Choose your preferred search engine and other browser settings.
5. Don’t install a “Vivaldi++” patcher or modified browser executable.

Uninstall: Settings → Apps. For a standalone installation, remove it using the appropriate Windows uninstall option or the standalone folder according to how it was installed.

If it did not work

• Unsupported Windows — check the current Vivaldi system requirements.
• Sync appears empty — make sure you are signed in to the correct Vivaldi account and that Sync is enabled.
• A small or oddly named Vivaldi_Unlocked installer from an unknown site — leave.
