Boris FX Sapphire is the GPU effects suite from Boris FX. The current line is Sapphire 2026 (installers also list 2026.5). It is a plugin, not a standalone editor. “Sapphire full” means a Boris FX licence — not a cracked .aex folder.

If you searched for “Sapphire 2026 full,” “cracked AE,” or “unlimited”

There is no extra unlocked plugin pack.

• Download the installer that matches After Effects / Premiere, Avid, OFX or Photoshop
• Install while the host is closed
• Activate with a Boris FX account, serial, or floating server

A “Sapphire Pro 2026” zip dumped into Support Files\Plugins is stolen licensing. Watermarks and missing S_ effects mean the licence never took. Grey-market keys are often recycled node-locks.

If nothing saves, you opened Continuum or Mocha by mistake.

What to do next

1. Go to borisfx.com/downloads.
2. Filter Sapphire, Windows, and the host.
3. Download that installer only.
4. Quit After Effects, Premiere, Resolve, Nuke or Avid.
5. Run the installer as Administrator if Windows asks.
6. Open the host. Effects sit under Sapphire categories (Blur+Sharpen, Lighting, Transitions, and the rest).

Typical folder: C:\Users\You\Downloads.
Adobe plugins land in the common Adobe plugins folder; OFX plugins land in the OFX plug-ins directory.

There is a separate AMD Windows installer and a CUDA 10 installer for older NVIDIA cards. Use those only if Boris FX’s GPU guide says your card needs them. Do not mix three Sapphire builds in one host.

Windows may warn you. Check the publisher.

• Publisher should read Boris FX (or the name on their signed installer).
• SmartScreen can appear on a new Sapphire setup. Use More info only if the signature is Boris FX.
• Do not turn off Defender to “activate.”
• Do not replace .dll / .ofx files from a crack site.

If effects are missing, you installed the Avid build into Premiere, or the host was open during setup.

• Legacy Sapphire 11–18 unless an old host forces you to legacy downloads

One licence type does not always cover every host. Boris FX sells Adobe/OFX, Avid-only, and Multi-host. Read the seat you paid for before you install three packages and expect one serial to quiet them all.

Boris FX Sapphire trial and paid seats

Sapphire is sold as subscription, node-locked perpetual, or floating. A trial is the official look. Perpetual seats typically include a year of upgrades; after that you keep the last version you were entitled to unless you renew support.

Studios that render on a farm need the floating / render options Boris FX documents — not a cracked “unlimited render nodes” zip.

Will Boris FX Sapphire run on this PC?

Sapphire 2026 official floor: Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit. The host must also be a version Boris FX lists. GPU acceleration is the point of the product; CPU fallback exists if there is no usable GPU.

Already installed? Download the newer 2026.5 host package from Boris FX. You do not hunt a second “full 2026.”

Install, first effect, and licence

First run

1. Open the host you licensed.
2. Apply S_Glow or a Sapphire transition to a test clip.
3. Confirm there is no trial watermark if you paid.
4. Check Effect controls for Sapphire presets.
5. If the GPU path is wrong, read the AMD vs NVIDIA installer notes before you reinstall.

Uninstall: Windows Apps, or the Sapphire uninstaller. Close the host first.

If it did not work

• Effects missing — wrong host installer, or host was running.
• Watermark remains — trial, or serial never activated.
• Black frames / fallback CPU — GPU or driver not in the 2026 support list.
• Resolve Fusion page — check Boris FX’s current Resolve notes; some versions limit where Sapphire runs.
• Installer is 40 MB named Sapphire_Unlocked — leave.

Why shops still install Sapphire

• Lens flares, glows, film/optical looks and transitions editors already know
• GPU playback on NVIDIA, AMD (Windows) and Metal (Mac)
• Same look across AE, Premiere, Resolve and Nuke when the licence covers those hosts

It is not Continuum and not a replacement for the NLE.

Questions before you trust the installer

Is this the official file?
Yes if it came from borisfx.com/downloads and the publisher is Boris FX.

Is Sapphire free?
No. The trial is time-limited. Education / volume deals go through Boris FX.

One installer for every host?
No. Adobe, Avid, OFX and Photoshop are different packages.

Sapphire vs Continuum?
Different Boris FX suites. Do not mix “full pack” zips.

Safe?
Official installer plus Boris FX activation. The usual risk is fake “Sapphire 2026 full” sites.

After you have the file

Quit the host. Install the matching Sapphire 2026 package. Activate. Update from Boris FX when 2026.5 lands for your host.
