Autodesk Maya is a modelling, animation and FX app from Autodesk. Current year is Maya 2027. “Maya full” means the subscription – not a cracked ISO. Unlike 3ds Max, Maya ships for Windows, macOS and Linux. This page is the Windows install.

Maya covers modelling, rigging, animation, Bifrost and lookdev. Arnold (MtoA) ships with it. V-Ray and Redshift are separate plugins. Licensing is an Autodesk ID.

Do not run Maya_2027_Full_x64.exe from a file host. That is not Autodesk.

Work PCs: your admin assigns the seat or a deployment. You still install from Autodesk.

If you searched for “Maya 2027 full” or “activated”

There is no extra unlocked setup.

• Sign in with the Autodesk ID that owns Maya or the Media & Entertainment Collection
• Click Install
• Sign in again when Maya opens

A “permanent 2027” pack plus a FlexLM patch is stolen licensing. Autodesk products check the account. Grey-market keys are often recycled seats.

A current subscription can be installed on up to three computers. Only the named user may run it on one machine at a time. Previous years listed on the account are the legal way to keep 2026 next to 2027 for old scenes and plugins.

Your download should start on Autodesk’s site

If nothing saves, you picked Mac or Linux by mistake, or you are on the wrong Autodesk ID.

What to do next

1. Sign in at manage.autodesk.com.
2. Open All products and services.
3. Choose Maya (or Maya Creative if that is the seat).
4. Platform Windows, version 2027.
5. Install (web) or Download / Direct download (larger offline set).
6. Run the Autodesk installer. Stay online until Maya can sign in.

Typical folder: C:\Users\You\Downloads.
App path: C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Maya2027.

Custom / deployment images are an admin job. Do not take an 8 GB “full ISO” from a forum thread.

Windows may warn you. Check the publisher.

• Publisher should read Autodesk.
• SmartScreen can appear on a new Autodesk setup. Use More info only if the signature is Autodesk.
• Do not turn off Defender to “activate.”
• Do not replace licensing DLLs.

Help → About should show Maya 2027. Use Autodesk Access or the account portal for 2027.1 and later patches.

Plugin years must match the Maya year.

Trial and subscription

Desktop Maya is a subscription. A 30-day trial is the official look. Convert the trial with the same Autodesk ID. Cancel in the account if you only wanted the trial.

Education seats follow Autodesk Education rules. A $40 “2027 lifetime” key is not Autodesk. Indie pricing and eligibility live on Autodesk’s site — do not invent a coupon.

Will it run on this PC?

Maya 2027 official Windows floor: Windows 11. Autodesk’s 2027 requirements page does not list Windows 10. Stay on Maya 2026 if you cannot leave Windows 10. macOS and Linux builds are separate downloads on the same account.

2027 uses OCIO v2.5.1. Use a current vendor GPU driver from the certified list.

Already installed? Use manage.autodesk.com or Autodesk Access. You do not download a second “full 2027.”

Install, first run, and sign-in

First run

1. Open Maya 2027.
2. Sign in with the same Autodesk ID.
3. Create a polygon cube — not the 8 GB USD stage on day one.
4. Check Help → About.
5. Install V-Ray or other renderers from their vendors after Maya is licensed.

Uninstall: Settings → Apps, or Autodesk Uninstall. Close Maya first.

If it did not work

• Product missing on the account — this ID never had Maya.
• License error — seat used on too many machines, or a fake key.
• Installer is 90 MB named Full_Activated — leave.
• Windows 10 + 2027 — unsupported. Use 2026 or move the PC to Windows 11.
• Plugin missing — you installed Maya 2027 and a 2025 module.

Is this the official file?
Yes if it came from manage.autodesk.com and the publisher is Autodesk.

Is Maya free?
No. Education has its own rules. The trial is 30 days.

Maya vs 3ds Max?
Both are Autodesk. Maya is the multi-platform animation / FX seat. Max is Windows-first modelling and lookdev. Pick the one the pipeline already uses.

Do I need 2027?
Only if plugins and the office standard say so. A subscription still lets you install 2026 for old scenes.

Safe?
Official account installer. The usual risk is fake “full activated” sites.

Install from Autodesk. Sign in. Let Access apply 2027.1. Pay or use the work/education/Indie seat.
