Enscape is a Chaos plugin, not a standalone modeller. One official Windows installer covers the host apps you tick. Licensing is a Chaos account, not a cgauth.dll swap. In addition, Chaos Enscape is the real-time renderer design teams use for instant walkthroughs, stills and VR inside Revit, SketchUp and other host apps.

Enscape is the product. Plans live on your Chaos account.

A zip that tells you to replace cgauth.dll is stolen licensing, and it often ships malware. Chaos licensing from 4.1 onward is account-based. A DLL swap is not how the real product works.

Your download should start on Chaos’s site

If nothing saves, use the signed-in downloads page and choose Enscape → official → windows-x64. There is also a Preview build. Preview is upcoming code. Use Live unless you are testing.

What to do next

1. Right-click the installer → Run as administrator.
2. Prefer Advanced → Install for all users on a shared workstation.
3. Tick only the host apps you actually have. One installer can cover several.
4. Open the host, start Enscape, click Sign in.
5. Use the email on the Chaos licence.

Typical folder: C:\Users\You\Downloads.
Typical app folder: C:\Program Files\Enscape.

Assets come from Chaos Cosmos, not from a pirate “library dump.” After 4.11, Cosmos is the official asset path.

Windows may warn you. Check the publisher.

• Publisher should read Chaos.
• SmartScreen can appear on a new installer. Use More info only if the signature matches.
• Do not turn off Defender to “activate Enscape.”
• Do not replace files in C:\Program Files\Enscape\RendererHost.

The installer may add .NET, Visual C++ 2015–2019 and Vulkan if they are missing. That is expected. Let it finish.

Pick the right Windows file

One recommended installer. Host support is built in.

Current Windows hosts Chaos lists: Revit 2023–2027, SketchUp 2024–2026, Rhino 7.0 and 8.3+, Archicad 27–29, Vectorworks 2024–2026.
Revit LT is not supported. That is Autodesk’s plugin rule, not a missing “Pro file.”
When Chaos adds a new host year, it drops an old one a few months later. If you must stay on Revit 2022, use the last compatible Enscape from your account — not a patched current build.

Chaos Enscape Trial vs Commercial

Trial starts when you register the Chaos account. Commercial activation is Sign in, local or remote Chaos License Server (http://127.0.0.1:30304 on the licence machine). Prices and Solo / Collection bundles change. Check chaos.com/enscape at checkout. Education seats exist through Chaos education rules, not through a “student crack.”

Will Chaos Enscape Run on This PC?

Enscape lives on the GPU. The CAD host still needs its own RAM and CPU.

• Minimum GPU: dedicated NVIDIA / AMD / Intel Arc with 4 GB VRAM, Vulkan 1.1 (GTX 10 / Quadro P or RX 5000 class and newer on the current table)
• Comfortable: 8 GB VRAM — RTX 3070 Ti or RX 6800 class
• VR: 12 GB — RTX 4070 Ti or RX 7900 XT class
• Also: .NET 4.5.2+, VC++ 2015–2019, Vulkan runtime

Integrated graphics only on the specific Intel 13th-gen / AMD Ryzen 6000–7000 iGPUs Chaos lists. No hardware ray tracing or VR there.
Dual monitors help. Cable network helps Cosmos.
Parallels / Boot Camp are not a supported Enscape setup.

Already installed? Install the new Live build over the old one. Sign in again if the licence server asks.

Install, first run, and the sign-in window

First run

1. Open a small model in the host.
2. Start Enscape.
3. Sign in.
4. Place one Cosmos asset before you load a 2 GB library.
5. If VR is the goal, test a headset Chaos lists (Quest 3, Vive Pro 2, etc.).

Uninstall: Windows Settings → Apps → Enscape, or the Chaos uninstall entry. Close the host first.

If it did not work

• No Enscape tab — host year is too old or too new for that build.
• Black viewport — GPU below 4 GB, bad driver, or Vulkan missing.
• Sign-in loop — licence server not running, or you used a remote server address that is wrong.
• Revit conflict — Chaos notes Colorizer and Techviz as known clashes. Remove those plugins first.

Is this the official file?
Yes if it came from chaos.com or my.chaos.com and the publisher is Chaos.

Do I download one installer per host?
No. One Windows installer. Tick the hosts you need.

Is there Enscape Pro?
The product is Enscape. Commercial rights come from the Chaos plan, not from a second EXE.

Will it run without Revit?
Yes, if you have another supported host. It will not replace the modeller.

Safe?
Official installer plus Chaos sign-in. The usual risk is fake “full + crack” sites.

Work PCs?
Use the firm’s Chaos seats. Do not park a home trial on every draughtsman’s box and then patch it.

After you have the file

Install from Chaos. Run as admin. Sign in. Let Cosmos fetch assets. Pay or use the seat on my.chaos.com if you keep it past the trial.
