Pixologic ZBrush download gives you Maxon’s 3D sculpting app for Windows. First, ZBrush is now a Maxon product and the current desktop line is ZBrush 2026 (2026.2.1 adds Windows on ARM, Substance Bridge, GoZ). You install from the Maxon App (or a Maxon standalone installer), then sign in with a Maxon ID. “ZBrush 2026 R2 unlocked” is not Maxon. Desktop + iPad can share a dual-platform seat. First, use the official download from Maxon. Next, sculpt, polypaint, ZModeler. Then, Maxon App → ZBrush 2026 → install → sign in. Finally, scratch disk wants space.

First, a “2026.2 pre-activated” folder plus a hosts-file patch is stolen licensing. In addition, grey-market keys are often recycled.

However, old Pixologic ZBrushCore / 2022 standalone keys are legacy. Finally, current seats are Maxon.

However, if the EXE is 80 MB named ZBrush_2026_Portable, leave.

What to do next

1. Install Maxon App if needed.
2. First, sign in with the ID that owns ZBrush / Maxon One.
3. Next, install ZBrush 2026.
4. Then, use the default path: C:\Program Files\Maxon\ZBrush 2026.
5. Finally, launch. Draw a sphere. Save a project outside the install folder.

First, GoZ: 2026.2+ installs GoZ with the app. Finally, older standalone GoZ installer is only if Maxon still lists it for your version.

However, iPad ZBrush is a different store build. Finally, same Maxon account can cover both if the plan says so.

In addition, Redshift inside ZBrush has its own GPU rules.

Windows may warn you. Check the publisher.

• First, the publisher should read Maxon.
• In addition, SmartScreen can appear on a new Maxon setup. Use More info only if the signature is Maxon.
• However, do not turn off Defender to “unlock ZBrushCore.”
• Finally, get the WinTab tablet driver from Wacom / Huion / XP-Pen — not a random “tablet crack.”

• First, avoid “ZBrush 4R8 portable”.
• Next, avoid a KeyShot installer labelled ZBrush.

Trial and licence

First, get the Maxon trial / subscription / Maxon One bundle. Next, dual desktop + iPad on current plans. Finally, cancel in the Maxon account if you only wanted a look.

However, a $20 “ZBrush 2026 lifetime” key is not Maxon.

Will it run on this PC?

First, check ZBrush help: Windows 10/11 64-bit, min 4 GB RAM (8–16+ for multimillion meshes), 8 GB disk min / 100 GB comfortable for scratch, OpenGL + Vulkan, monitor 1280×1024 (1920×1080 better), mouse or WinTab tablet. Next, CPU does most of the sculpting; GPU still needed for those APIs and Redshift. Finally, Maxon One sheet lists 16 GB as a general Maxon floor. Internet for licence.

Already installed? First, use Maxon App → update to 2026.2.x. Finally, you do not hunt a second “full.”

Install, first sculpt, and sign-in

First run

1. First, open ZBrush.
2. Next, sign in.
3. Then, Tool → Sphere. Edit → Draw.
4. After that, save a .ztl in Documents — not under Program Files.
5. Finally, use Preferences → tablet if strokes feel wrong.

Finally, to uninstall, use Maxon App or Settings → Apps. Then remove leftover C:\Program Files\Maxon\ZBrush 2026 and the user asset folder if you want a clean slate (Maxon KB).

If it did not work

• First, demo / can’t save means not signed in.
• Next, no pressure means tablet driver.
• Finally, a 90 MB ZBrush_Unlocked file means leave.

Why studios still install ZBrush 2026

• First, industry sculpt default.
• In addition, 2026.2.1 ARM + Substance Bridge.
• Finally, one Maxon ID with iPad.
