Adobe Photoshop is a professional image-editing application developed by Adobe. The original Photoshop was released in 1990, while Photoshop CS5 was introduced in 2010 as part of Adobe Creative Suite 5. It includes tools for photo retouching, compositing, digital painting, graphic design, and other image-editing workflows.
Because Photoshop CS5 is a discontinued legacy release, compatibility with modern Windows versions is not guaranteed. Users running Windows 10 or Windows 11 may encounter installation, activation, driver, or compatibility issues.

What's New in Adobe Photoshop CS5
Photoshop CS5 introduced several important improvements to image editing, selection, retouching, painting, and workflow tools. Some of its notable features are described below.
Content-Aware Fill
Content-Aware Fill was one of the major additions in Photoshop CS5. It can remove unwanted objects or areas from an image and intelligently fill the selected region using surrounding visual information.
Content-Aware Healing and Patch
Photoshop CS5 improved content-aware retouching with Content-Aware options in tools such as the Spot Healing Brush and Patch tool. These features help remove unwanted areas while producing more natural-looking results.
Puppet Warp
Puppet Warp allows you to place pins on an image and manipulate specific parts of the subject while keeping other areas relatively stable. It can be useful for adjusting the position or shape of objects and subjects.
Refine Edge
The Refine Edge feature provides additional controls for improving selections, particularly around difficult details such as hair, fur, and soft edges. It helps users create cleaner masks and selections.
Improved HDR Pro
Photoshop CS5 introduced improvements to HDR Pro, providing more control when combining multiple exposures and creating high-dynamic-range images. HDR toning also provides additional options for adjusting the appearance of HDR-style images.
Mixer Brush
The Mixer Brush provides more realistic painting and blending behavior. It can mix colors on the canvas and simulate aspects of traditional painting techniques, making it useful for digital painting and image retouching.
Bristle Brushes
Photoshop CS5 introduced Bristle Tips for more natural-looking digital painting. These brush tips provide greater control over the appearance and direction of painted strokes.
Mini Bridge
Adobe Mini Bridge provides a compact way to browse and manage files without leaving the Photoshop workspace. It can be useful for locating images and other project assets.
Puppet Warp and Transform Improvements
Photoshop CS5 expanded its transformation and manipulation capabilities, making it easier to modify individual elements while maintaining control over the rest of the composition.
3D Editing
Photoshop CS5 Extended included additional 3D capabilities for working with 3D content. These features were available specifically in the Extended edition and should not be confused with the standard Photoshop CS5 feature set.
Improved Workflow
Photoshop CS5 also included improvements to the user interface, workspace customization, color management, and general workflow. These changes were designed to make common image-editing tasks more efficient.
