VueScan Pro is Hamrick Software’s scanner app. Standard and Professional are serials — one Windows file. Official: hamrick.com / download. Current: 9.8.57 (23 Aug 2026). “VueScan Pro 9.8 unlocked” is not Hamrick. Trial watermarks scans until you enter a real key. This is not Epson Scan. Check supported scanners first. Updates: 12 months from purchase, unless you bought Pro before 31 Mar 2021 (lifetime updates per their FAQ).

In fact, there is no extra unlocked Pro setup.

A “9.8.57 pre-activated” folder plus a patched licence is stolen licensing. Grey-market keys are often recycled.

If the EXE is 8 MB named VS_Pro_2026, leave. In contrast, the official x64 build is on the order of ~80 MB.

What to do next

1. download.html or alternate-versions → 9.8.57 Windows x64.
2. Run vuex64-9.8.57.exe.
3. Allow the VueScan driver if asked.
4. Open VueScan → detect scanner.
5. Register Pro if you paid for Pro.

Typical folder: C:\Program Files\VueScan.

For 32-bit, the last 9.8 x32 on their table is 9.8.37. Meanwhile, 9.7.99 is still listed if a scanner/OS needs it.

Windows may warn you. Check the publisher.

• Publisher should read Hamrick Software.
• SmartScreen can appear on a new 9.8.57 setup. Use More info only if that name matches.
• Do not turn off Defender to “remove watermark.”
• USB scanner: try another cable/port before a crack.

VueScan Pro trial and licence

Trial = watermark. With VueScan Pro, Standard vs Professional is the key you buy on hamrick.com. If the purchase is older than 12 months, you keep the last version you were entitled to unless you buy again — except Pro bought before 31 Mar 2021 (lifetime updates per Hamrick).

For example, a $8 “Pro lifetime 2026” keygen is not Hamrick.

Will VueScan Pro run on this PC?

Hamrick supports current Windows (mirrors still say Win7–11). 2 GB RAM class is enough for the app; scans need disk. x64 or ARM64 matching the CPU. Scanner must be on their list (thousands of models). Internet to activate. You still need the device connected.

Already have VueScan Pro installed? Install the same 9.8.57 over it; it keeps a valid serial. You do not hunt a second “Pro full.”

Install, first scan, and the serial

First run

1. Open VueScan.
2. Preview.
3. One scan you own.
4. Enter the key if watermarked.
5. OCR / raw / IT8 only if Pro includes that on your plan.

Uninstall: Settings → Apps.

If it did not work

• Watermark — no / wrong key.
• No scanner — unsupported or driver prompt skipped.
• 12 MB VS_Unlocked — leave.

Why people still buy official VueScan

• Old hardware without maker drivers
• 9.8.57 still dated Aug 2026
• One serial, Standard or Pro

However, it will not fix a dead lamp.
