For the Activation of Windows 10, you’ll need a digital License or a 25-character product key to activate it. These two things allow you to activate your account. Without one of these, you can’t activate your device.
Activation of windows via the Digital License method doesn’t require you to enter a product key. For activation, you need to select one of the above methods. After determining the activation method, follows these simple steps.
Activation via Digital License
In this method, connect your PC with the internet and log in to your Microsoft Account. Digital License is linked to your Microsoft Account and associated with your hardware.
For the first time installation and activation on a new device
For the first time installation and activation on a new device, you just need to link your Digital License with your Microsoft Account. If you have a product key, then place the key into it. Otherwise, select the option “I don’t have a product key”. Now, connect your PC with the internet and sign in to your MS Account. Congratulations! You are all set.
Activation after Re-installation
If you have a Digital License for your device, reinstall Windows 10 on your device without entering a product key.
Note: Before re-installation, make sure that Windows 10 is activated.
How to check this?
To check this, whether Windows 10 is activated or not, follows these easy simple steps:
- Go to start button
- Go to Setting
- Select Update and security
- Go to activation
Now, you’ll be able to confirm that:
- Your Windows 10 is activated
- Digital License is activated with your Microsoft Account.
If you are asked to enter a product key during reinstallation, place it into it. If not, then select “I don’t have a product key”.
Once reinstallation will complete, Windows 10 will automatically be activated.
