How to fix Tencent Gaming Buddy loading stuck/fail at 98%?

Here are all possible reasons and their solution:
1- Pause / Disable Windows Defender Antivirus
App launch failure at 98% or somewhere else is a common problem, especially on Windows 10 and Windows 8 or 8.1. Windows Defender is one of the most common problem. It comes pre-installed in Windows 8 and the next versions like 8.1 and Windows 10.
Windows 7 is however, does not have Windows Defender Antivirus activated by default. It can be installed or enabled but nobody likes Windows Defender. You too, right?
How to disable Windows Defender Antivirus?
Here is how to disable Windows Defender for Windows 10 and Windows 8:
Search for Windows Defender. Several results might show up based on Windows version. So choose any of these results: Windows Defender Settings, Windows Defender Security Center.
Click on Virus and Threat Protection.
Go to Configuration and Deactivate all options and services available.
Restart the computer device if necessary and launch Tenccent Gaming Buddy. Congrats if loading error issue is resolved, if not, do not be disappointed and try next solution.
2- Uninstall Antivirus program
Antivirus software are though necessary for system security, these security software do not understand how much we love game emulators. This is the same problem with other Android emulators.
You may have faced the same issue If you have used BlueStacks for playing PUBG on Windows PC. Some Antivirus suit applications are just furious at Android emulators, BitDefender is the leader.
So if you want to play PUBG on TGB, try to pause the antivirus software and see if this works for you. Otherwise, decide either you prefer to play PUBG with TGB or can not survive without antivirus app. Choose one and uninstall the loser.
If you still do not know how to uninstall a program on Windows, here is the procedure:
- Open Control Panel.
- Search and click on Uninstall a program.
- Find the program you want to remove, right click on that program and click uninstall from the menu.
Note: This is not the end of story. No matter either you uninstalled TGB or antivirus, you always have an alternative Android emulator for playing PUBG, as well as another alternative antivirus software which can run parallel with TGB without loading failure or other errors.
If this solution has fixed the loading failure problem, then you can skip the other solutions. Otherwise keep going on and try next solution.
3- Change TGB Engine
Though the developers at Tencent have optimized TGB to best suit most computer systems and their hardware, it might have suited your computer CPU or graphics card. So, tune TGB engine and set the configuration according to your computer.
Changing TGB engine configuration is explained in how to fix TGB lag issues. However, for your comfort, follow these steps:
Tweak Tencent Gaming Buddy Engine Settings
The developers of TGB have configured the game engine and settings to best balance between performance and quality, however it might not suit your system and its processor, graphic card/ GPU or other hardware. Therefore you have to tweak TGB manually to match your system hardware.
Start Tenccent Gaming Buddy and open Settings.
You will find 3 tabs in Settings Center: Basics, Engine and Game. Click on Engine.
Here you will see following modes:
- OpenGL: for a normal graphic card or GPU
- DirectX: for a normal processor / CPU
- OpenGL+ for a powerful GPU
- DirectX+ for a powerful processor / CPU
- Smart Mode for smart settings
Choose the best mode according to your system specifications. If you are confused, then select OpenGL or DirectX.
Now check the following options:
- Enable Render Cache.
- Enable Enforce Global Render Cache.
- Be careful with Prioritize Dedicated GPU, enable only if you have a dedicated GPU like AMD or Nvidia, otherwise do not enable this feature.
- Enable Rendering Optimization.
Now move to next set of configurations and select following options:
- Keep Anti-aliasing to Close.
- Set the Memory size less than your actual system memory (RAM).
- Do not touch Processor option if you are not sure about it.
- Choose Resolution wisely. The lower, the faster game play (in most cases).
- DPI (Dots Per Inch) is also about display. The lower, the faster performance.
Try to balance between performance and display quality, do not ruin the joy of display for the sake of performance. And vice versa.
Now go to Game tab and choose HD or SD display quality according to your system hardware. We recommend you try both and decide which one is best for you.

4- Delete Temporary Folder
TGB creates a temp folder to store files and settings temporarily. These files are helpful to run the app smoothly and reduce repeating tasks. But sometimes these files in temp folder become a problem to load the application.
